Treated timber - our customers have spoken!

A few weeks back we wrote about the dark side of treated timber. We asked you for your views on a safer, more sustainable and less toxic alternative version of H3.2 timber.

MCA treated timber uses only a small fraction of the toxic chemicals used by CCA treatment. MCA sawdust is less toxic, contact with MCA treated timber is less harmful and at the end of its life, fewer toxic chemicals are released into waste streams.

The results are in…

• 72% of people said they would go out of their way to get MCA treated timber instead of the more toxic CCA default.

• 61% of people said they’d choose MCA over CCA if they cost the same

• 28% of people said they’d pay more for MCA

So if you are in the MCA camp, don’t by shy about it - you’re in the majority!
